More specifically, the activity has:

  1. covered the use of autonomy in ongoing and upcoming space missions and identified the needs of such systems to correctly operate,
  2. covered completed and ongoing standardization activities that aim to provide guidelines for the development of autonomous systems,
  3. provided a definition of correct autonomous systems in terms of safety and dependability and associated development, verification and validation techniques that are representable through quality metrics
  4. provided a set of guidelines and requirements in the form of amended ECSS standards that are immediately usable for space missions.
